Have you ever felt so right about something in your life but logically knew it would be frowned upon?

When you allow so many voices to weigh their opinions into your life, it can become very confusing.  When your heart is telling you one thing, but everyone in your circle is telling you something else, that can be hard.  When I was dating Tyrese, I was in a very similar situation and it was not healthy for me. I knew in my gut at the time that the relationship was not healthy for me but I allowed my ego to get in the way. I stayed in that relationship out of pure stubbornness and pride.  But with Rod my heart was singing a different tune.  I had more life experience under my belt, and I knew this was meant to be.  His family loved me and supported us which I did not have in my relationship with Tyrese.  Rod took time to get to know me and actually made me a better person through our relationship.  He didn’t cause me to isolate myself the way Charles had, he supported growth in me.  You should always take a step back and weigh out what your heart and your head are telling you and make the best choice for yourself.  At times, you need to listen to the crowds around you and other times you need to follow your heart.  Through your own personal journey and life experiences, you will learn how to do this.

“Feel with your heart and silence all the other opinions.”

When your heart is telling you one thing and your mind is telling you another it is tough. It is even harder when the outside world is throwing judgement, condemnation and their opinions into the mix. When life starts to get out of control and all the different voices start to spin around you find a place alone, quiet from everything and sit with yourself. Ask yourself the hard questions to determine if you are doing the right thing in that situation. Feel with your heart and silence all the other opinions. You will feel in your gut if what you are doing is the right thing or not. Then you have to give yourself permission to stand in your truth and live out your life the way that makes you have the peace you can live with.

Have you ever had to fight for your life and learn how to adjust to a new normal?

Not having control of your body or situations can be overwhelming and hard. But if you take a breath and allow your thoughts to fade you can get through anything.  Try to focus on the present moment and make it through what is happening right now instead of what could happen in the future or what has happened in the past.  When we are in pain or scared, many times we forget to breathe.  Taking slow deep breaths through our nose and exhaling through our mouths help to reduce stress, lessen the pain and sort out our thoughts.  Be open-minded and willing to learn from your experiences and others.  Remember, through pain, you can grow physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Be open to growth so that you can become the person that you are meant to be.  Look at the various ways others live their lives and be willing to receive from them the lessons you need in your life.

“Be open-minded and willing to learn from your experiences and others.”

Sometimes life has a way of throwing us curve balls forcing us to shift our direction. Maybe even placing us on a completely different path then we intended to be on. Learn how to stay in the present moment, not  to have every goal set in stone so that if you need to shift a little bit you can. I have never been good with change but as I have learned being flexible to what’s to come makes life a whole lot easier.
