Have you ever had to redirect your efforts to find fulfillment in life?
When life seems to overwhelm you, it is best to shift your focus and try to move on from what is causing you such pain. I was at a pivotal moment in my life where my spirit had been shattered and my self-confidence was taking such a hit that I literally was starting to question my purpose. I couldn’t financially afford to change my situation, but I also couldn’t afford to stay there because it was affecting my health. It was imperative that a shift was made if I was going to be able to stay where I was for any length of time. Through taking my focus and investing my energy in healing myself and others, I was able to find joy and hope again. It is so important, as I have said before to take a step back, take a deep breath and ask yourself how you can make a change. Only I had control to change my perspective and by doing that it painted a new reality for me.
“It was imperative that a shift was made.”
Many times I have been stuck in situations that I could not physically change. I shifted my mindset from dwelling on the negative to looking for the positive. I learned to compartmentalize the emotions that surrounded the situation so that they no longer had a negative affect on my life. I started to shift from being bitter and resentful too praying for my boss and feeling pity for the man. Miserable people make other people miserable. By not allowing his energy to affect me it was more manageable.
“I shifted my mindset from dwelling on the negative to looking for the positive.”
When you are in a difficult situation and you don’t know how much more you can take, pause. Take a deep breath. Figure out what you need to learn from it. Most of the time we are feeling unhappy about something because it is bringing out something we don’t like about ourselves. Start questioning the situation and figuring out what that is. What can you change within yourself and your mindset to better handle the situation?
